Business Development Services Summit 2024/2025: Empowering Tanzania’s Smallholder Farmers and Rural Agribusinesses.
Under the theme “Empowering Smallholder Farmers and Rural Agribusinesses through Quality and Affordable Business Development Services,” the Business Development Services (BDS) Conference Summit 2024/2025 gathered key players in the agricultural sector to reflect on progress, share insights, and plan for sustainable growth.
Celebrating Four Years of Impactful Work
As the EU Agri-Connect Program (2020–2024) approaches its conclusion, last week’s #BDSConference2024 served as a pivotal moment for stakeholders to assess the program’s achievements and strategize for its enduring legacy. The event, expertly facilitated by the team at Flying Dream, provided a collaborative platform for service providers, rural agribusiness experts, and development partners to discuss sustainable solutions for smallholder farmers.
Uniting Forces for Lasting Change
The summit featured valuable contributions from key partners, including Rikolto, MIICO, Inades Formation Tanzania, and ASF Foundation, showcasing their shared commitment to transforming Tanzania’s agricultural sector. Together, these organizations have worked to ensure smallholder farmers have access to quality, affordable business development services, ultimately strengthening rural agribusinesses and supporting communities across the region.
A Legacy of Empowerment
The AGRI-CONNECT Program, funded by the European Union and implemented by partners such as ASF Foundation, MIICO Consortium, Inades Formation Tanzania, and TCCIA, has played a transformative role in Tanzania’s agricultural landscape. By focusing on building capacity, improving access to resources, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, the program has laid a strong foundation for continued empowerment of farmers and rural enterprises long after its official conclusion.
A Vision for the Future
As the conference wrapped up, participants echoed a unified vision: to sustain and expand the impact of the Agri-Connect Program’s initiatives. Through ongoing collaboration and innovation, the agricultural sector in Tanzania is poised to thrive, offering smallholder farmers and rural agribusinesses the support they need to succeed in a competitive and evolving global market.
The Business Development Services Summit 2024/2025 was not just a celebration of past achievements—it was a forward-looking commitment to ensuring that Tanzania’s farmers remain at the heart of sustainable development. 🌿🌍
