TARURA continues with the inspection of AGRI-CONNECT Programme roads in Iringa Region.

Members of the Advisory Board of the Rural Roads Agency (TARURA) have continued with the road inspection tour of the AGRI-CONNECT programme in Iringa Region, Mufindi district and inspected the Sawala – Mkonge – Iyegeya road with a length of 30.3 kilometers. The road has been built at a cost of TZS. 8,167,087,887.00.

The main goal of this project is to facilitate the transportation of vegetables, tea, fruits and other products from farms to other regions or to factories or warehouses.

This project has also brought many economic and social benefits, some of these benefits are: –

  1. Employment opportuities for citizens living in the project areas during implementation where 470 jobs in all projects have been provided.
  2. Supporting economic growth of those areas by strengthening the transport situation, the growth of the private sector in business, the strengthening of the health sector and the availability of food in general in all areas surrounding the project.
